Youth Grant Program

The Danby Community Council Youth Grant Program encourages you to apply for up to $100 per child, per year, to defray costs of many types of youth development activities.

Priority will be given to those who qualify for free or reduced school lunches (info available from ICSD Child Nutrition Program, 607.274.2302).

Youth Development Programs

The Danby Community Council is the designated supervisory organization responsible for overseeing Youth Development programming funded by Tompkins County, the Town of Danby, and New York State.

The DCC contracts with Cornell Cooperative Extension of Tompkins County to administer Youth Programming.

Youth Employment Opportunities - YES (Youth Employment Services)

The Tompkins County Summer Youth Employment Program begins on July 1. It will provide safe and educational summer work opportunities for teens and young adults ages 14-20.

Work opportunities this year include: gardens, farms, retail operations, a bicycle repair shop, remote graphic design work and office support, in-person medical office work, camp counseling/childcare, and more. Work site locations are in Ithaca, Trumansburg, Groton, Brooktondale, Enfield and Newfield. We provide free bus passes to youth workers who will be taking the bus.
